POSITION SUMMARY:

As we continue to grow and scale our operations, we have an excellent opportunity for a new Electronic Manufacturing Engineer in our facility just outside of Omaha, Nebraska. The ideal candidate will bring their hands on engineering and project management expertise as well as their manufacturing know-how to the company. As an Electronic Manufacturing Engineer, you will have responsibilities that include key manufacturing processes such as PCBA (SMT and through-hole), cable and box build assembly. In addition to manufacturing engineering responsibilities, there will be opportunity for some design engineering work (electrical and mechanical). This role requires competencies to drive quality, delivery, and cost improvements in manufacturing. The engineer will partner with the NPI team and customers to develop and transfer new products, designs, and processes into production. The engineer will implement lean principles to improve operating performance and reduce waste as well as support daily operational goals.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports directly to the Operations and Engineering Manager and communicates frequently with employees at all levels. This person must be able to interface effectively with managers, office employees, production employees, suppliers, customers, and other individuals inside and outside of the organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support all aspects of electronic and mechanical assembly, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), through-hole assembly, convection reflow, hardware installation, cleaning, conformal coating, and box build.
  • Resolve manufacturing and process issues.
  • Detail product costs and prepare quoting packages.
  • Develop, qualify, and document new manufacturing processes or modify existing processes to fit the requirements of new products.
  • Work with NPI groups (internal and external) to develop both hardware and electromechanical assemblies, ensuring the designs are reliable, cost effective, and designed for manufacturability and testability.
  • Support Supply Chain with analysis of alternate electrical components and commodity management.
  • Identify, design, procure, and validate fixtures & tools. Support factory equipment selection process to meet production plans.
  • Initiate, take ownership, and complete technical projects leading to new or improved products or processes.
  • Perform process capability assessments and establish methods to control process output.
  • Develop, verify, and validate products from process development to successful commercialization.
  • Train, develop, and/or provide work direction to operators and technicians.
  • Research and recommend new technologies to improve reliability, efficiency and contribute to cost reduction.
  • Communicate business and technical needs, status, results, and observations to operating, technical and business teams.
  • Responsible for process documentation and ensuring it is kept current like Work Instructions, Standard Work documents, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Understand and adhere to the Pivot EDM Quality and EHS policies.
  • Participate in and coordinate CI initiatives, Lean Manufacturing, Problem-Solving, Kaizen events and other improvement activities.
  • Assist in identifying and prioritizing opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, increase net income, enhance productivity, and further employee performance.
  • Serve as the point of contact for specific project initiatives and best practices.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3-5 years of experience.

  • Able to interpret and create electronic schematics, assembly, and fabrication drawings.

Utilize SMT machines to place surface mount parts and solder reflow the components to the printed circuit board. Responsible for the set-up of all pieces of equipment on the SMT line, including the screen printer, the pick and place machines, and the reflow oven.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to all ESD requirements and board handling requirements.
  • Use of Moisture Sensitive Device (MSD) handling requirements based on component moisture-sensitive levels (MSL).
  • Utilize process sheets to ensure correct build of product.
  • Load feeders for surface mount machines using the load list provided by machine.
  • Verify correct part numbers are being used for the specific job being run.
  • Initiate and select correct programs for SMT screen printer & SMT pick and place machines and correct reflow profile for the reflow oven per work instructions.
  • Select the proper stencil screen for use during screen-printing operation.
  • Comply with Pivot-EDM’s standards of ESD, IPC-A-610, work instructions, and ISO procedures and policies.
  • Perform machine preventative maintenance on-screen printer and pick and place machines based on assigned schedules.
  • Operate stencil cleaning machine.
  • Clean boards as required based on soldering chemistry.
  • Support and follow all ISO standards related to Pivot-EDM’s various Quality Management Systems. These systems may include but are not limited to, quality, the environment, health, safety, and security.
  • Support all corporate and site 6S objectives.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0 - 6 months previous electronic experience/training provided
  • Ability to utilize electronic work instructions
  • Ability to utilize SMT line management software

POSITION SUMMARY:

We have an excellent opportunity for an Electronic Manufacturing Quality Control Inspector in our facility just outside of Omaha, Nebraska. The ideal candidate will bring their hands on electronics and soldering expertise as well as general manufacturing experience to the company. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will have responsibilities that include in-process and final inspection of all stages of electronics manufacturing from raw circuit boards through complete turnkey retail electronic assemblies. In addition to quality inspection responsibilities, there will be opportunities to develop skills in auditing, lean manufacturing, kaizen events, and general process improvement. This role requires competencies to understand customer requirements, interpret blueprints and drawing files, use handheld and electronic measuring gages, demonstrate proficiency with various software applications, and drive quality process improvements overall.

Responsibilities include assembling electronic components, subassemblies and systems using hand tools, light assembly equipment and lead-free solder stations. Assemblers are expected to follow production work instructions and shop orders to complete product assembly with the highest quality and efficiency.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the efficient production of products while maintaining high quality standards and timely shipping lead times for all products. The Production Supervisor directly supervises approximately 25 floor employees. This position is for first shift.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and communicates frequently with employees at all levels. This person must be able to interface effectively with managers, office employees, production employees, and other individuals inside and outside of the organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods
  • Plans and establishes work schedules, stock levels, assignments, and production sequences to effectively meet production goals
  • Maintains strict quality control standards in the production of all products
  • Oversees stock inventory levels of critical parts to maintain minimal stock and effectively fill stock and customers’ orders
  • Analyses work orders, production schedules, and other reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as needed
  • Approves payroll hours, vacation requests, overtime and organizes temporary labor staff when needed
  • Performs training as required
