Current Positions:

Responsibilities include assembling electronic components, subassemblies and systems using hand tools, light assembly equipment and lead-free solder stations. Assemblers are expected to follow production work instructions and shop orders to complete product assembly with the highest quality and efficiency.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate appropriate equipment, tools, and fixtures for product assembly
  • Soldering of wires and components to printed circuit boards
  • Assembly and soldering of wiring harnesses
  • Hand assembly of plastic and metal heat sinks and case parts
  • Operate and supervise automatic epoxy resin potting machines
  • Functional testing of work in progress and completed units
  • Packaging of finished goods (box and clamshell)
  • Works with production supervisor to ensure product quality by identifying and resolving assembly issues and highlighting continuous improvement opportunities
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment
  • Read and apply documented quality system procedures
  • Read and understand work instructions and Bills of Material
  • Must understand and follow all rules of safety as defined by the employer and required by all applicable regulations.
  • Other tasks as required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate
  • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level
  • Pass a background check and drug screening
  • Electronics Manufacturing Environments: 2 years preferred
  • Soldering SMT and THT components: 1 year preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Positive attitude with ability to function in a team environment
  • IPC-A-610 Certification
  • Manual dexterity for working with small components
  • Good eyesight including close and distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time and perform continuous operations
  • Flexible to work in other positions on assembly lines as needed (inspection, testing, packaging, etc.)
  • Familiar with component polarities and ability to verify solder and component placement on circuit boards
  • Must meet production and quality standards as assigned by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Interfaces with other managerial, office and hourly employees on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to visually inspect parts, product, and processes.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to visually identify small part markings with the aid of magnification.
  • Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Voluntary overtime as scheduled.

Summary:

Pivot EDM is looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting materials, parts and products at different stages of production. Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacturing of products. Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes. Working as a QA Inspector typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. May be entry level if some experience in the electronics industry. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision, but does report to a supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet professional development milestones.
  • Inspect that incoming materials, in process materials, and outgoing materials meet specifications.
  • Flag nonconforming material and file appropriate reports.
  • Perform “roving inspections” throughout the facility, at the direction of the Quality Supervisor.
  • Coordinating with Shipping & Receiving personnel, they will assist with:
    • First Article Inspections
    • Receiving inspections
  • Support Continuous Improvement processes as necessary.
  • Perform other Quality duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of relevant experience in Quality or electronics manufacturing is required to qualify for maximum compensation. In lieu of this, considering this an entry-level position is acceptable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical school training will be given consideration.
  • IPC certification(s) are preferred but not conditional upon hiring. Applicants that are not IPC certified are expected to obtain certification while on the job.

Compensation:

  • $18.75 to $19.50 an hour, depending on experience and training.
  • Merit based quarterly bonus up to 5% of base pay.
